Common uses
Xibrom is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory eye drop used to treat swelling of the eyes in patients who have recently had surgery to remove cataracts. Xibrom may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Before using
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with this medicine. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking “blood thinners” (such as warfarin) or other medicines that may make you bleed more easily. DO NOT START OR STOP any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, including certain eye problems (such as corneal denervation, corneal epithelial defects, or ocular surface diseases such as dry eye syndrome), complicated eye surgeries, repeated eye surgeries within a short period of time, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, bleeding problems, asthma, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. Tell your doctor if you wear contact lenses. Contact your doctor if you have any questions or concerns about taking this medicine.

Directions
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. TO USE THIS MEDICINE, wash your hands. Tilt your head back. Using your index finger, pull the lower eyelid away from the eye to form a pouch. Drop the medicine into the pouch and gently close your eyes. Do not blink and keep your eyes closed for 1 to 2 minutes. Remove excess medicine around your eye with a clean tissue, being careful not to touch your eye. Wash your hands to remove any medicine that may be on them. TO PREVENT GERMS from entering your medicine, do not touch the applicator tip to any surface, including your eye. Keep the container tightly closed. DO NOT ADMINISTER THIS MEDICINE while wearing contact lenses. Talk to your doctor about proper use of this medicine if you usually wear contact lenses. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature between 59 and 77 degrees F (15-25 degrees C) in a tightly closed container away from heat and light. Use this medicine regularly to receive the most benefit from it. Using this medicine at the same times each day will help you to remember. CONTINUE TO USE THIS MEDICINE for the full course of treatment even if you feel well. Do not miss any doses. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. DO NOT use 2 doses at once.

Cautions
DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE if you have had an allergic reaction to it or are allergic to any ingredient in this product, including sodium sulfite. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU HAVE HAD A SEVERE ALLERGIC REACTION to aspirin or any medicine containing aspirin or a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine (such as Feldene, Motrin, Naprosyn, or Daypro). A severe reaction includes a severe rash, hives, breathing difficulties, or dizziness. If you have a question about whether you are allergic to this medicine or if a certain medicine is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine, contact your doctor or pharmacist. DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSE or take this medicine for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor. KEEP ALL DOCTOR AND LABORATORY APPOINTMENTS while you are using this medicine. BEFORE YOU BEING TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. AVOID USE OF THIS MEDICINE during late pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Possible side effects
SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while using this medicine include eye irritation, burning, stinging, pain, itching, redness, or swelling; unusual feeling in the eye; or headache. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience severe eye irritation, burning, stinging, itching, redness, or swelling; vision changes; or unusual bleeding of the eye, especially after eye surgery. An allergic reaction to this medicine is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.

If you take too much
IF OVERDOSE IS SUSPECTED, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

Additional information
If your symptoms do not improve within 14 days or if they become worse, check with your doctor. DO NOT SHARE THIS MEDICINE with others for whom it was not prescribed. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE for other health conditions. KEEP THIS MEDICINE out of the reach of children.
